Warren County estimated first-year savings of $175,000 to $200,000 from its shared waste and recycling hauling program in a December 30, 2025, report. County trucks and drivers had begun transporting materials from participating town transfer stations in January 2025, replacing separate private hauling arrangements.
The report said every county town except Lake George joined the program. Officials described lower charges and better collection data as benefits of coordinating the work. A $450,000 state grant awarded in August was intended to help purchase another truck and add a staff member. At the time of the report, DPW hoped to receive the vehicle by January 2026. The savings figure is the county's 2025 estimate, not a verified total for subsequent years.
