Warren County's September 1, 2026, report described underwater plant surveys by Soil & Water Conservation District staff at Brant Lake and other county waters. Divers collected samples, took photographs and recorded locations while checking native vegetation and looking for invasive species.

The report said the year's work included 37 native plant types counted at Trout Lake. It also described a Brant Lake visit that found more than a dozen native plants and no newly detected plant species that did not belong there. Those findings concern the visits described in the report, rather than a blanket assessment of every lake. Survey work supports lake associations and state environmental staff, with different waters visited over a multi-year cycle.
