Nearly 100 high school students competed at Warren County Fish Hatchery on April 29, 2026, during the Soil & Water Conservation District's Envirothon. The county's May 1 report said eight school districts took part in the outdoor environmental science competition.
A North Warren Central School team won for the second consecutive year, with Warrensburg teams placing second and third. The competition covered wildlife, forestry, aquatic ecology and soil, alongside an annual issue focused in 2026 on non-point source pollution. Teams prepared with study materials and review sessions supported by district staff. The report identified North Warren as the county representative for the state competition scheduled for May 27-28 at SUNY Cortland; it did not report that later competition's result.
